The Head of Public Relations at the Rent Control Department, Emmanuel Hovey Kporsu, is urging landlords and landladies to obtain an official property assessment from the department before renting out their buildings.
According to him, such assessments help determine the appropriate rent value for properties before they are given out to prospective tenants, ensuring fairness in the rental market.
Mr. Kporsu made the call in an exclusive interview with GN Media during a visit to the department.
He further explained that under Ghanaian law, rent on a property can only be increased once every two years, stressing the importance of complying with the legal provisions governing rental arrangements.
