The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Prisons Service, Samuel Kofi Opoku, says LGBTQ+ activities are not accepted within prison facilities in Ghana.

According to the Superintendent, inmates generally disapprove of such behaviours, and individuals who attempt to engage in them may face hostility from fellow prisoners.

Supt. Opoku made the remarks during an exclusive interview with Akosua Sika Gold of ATV Ghana, where he spoke about discipline and social dynamics within the country’s correctional facilities.

He explained that prison authorities focus on maintaining order and security within the facilities, while also ensuring that inmates adhere to the rules and regulations governing life in prison.
