The Government of Ghana has condemned a drone attack that left two Ghanaian nationals injured near Dubai International Airport in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on March 11, 2026.

In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government said it had been informed by authorities in the UAE that the two Ghanaians sustained injuries following a drone-related incident in the vicinity of the international airport earlier in the day.

The ministry strongly condemned any act that endangers civilian lives and critical infrastructure, noting that such incidents pose serious threats to public safety and the security of key international transport hubs.

According to the statement, Ghana’s Ambassador to the UAE has led a delegation from the country’s embassy in Abu Dhabi and its consulate in Dubai to visit the injured nationals in hospital. The government indicated that the victims’ injuries are not life-threatening and that they are expected to recover.

The ministry added that Ghanaian diplomatic officials are working closely with host authorities while providing consular support to the affected individuals.

Government also expressed its concern over the incident and extended its thoughts to the injured persons and their families, reiterating its commitment to protecting the welfare of Ghanaian citizens wherever they may be.

Meanwhile, the government said it is supporting ongoing consultations at the United Nations aimed at securing a resolution that would lead to a cessation of hostilities.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry further urged Ghanaians living in the Gulf region to remain vigilant and comply with safety directives issued by Ghanaian diplomatic missions and local authorities while the situation continues to be monitored.
