The Head of Public Relations at the Rent Control Department, Emmanuel Hovey Kporsu, has stated that rental agents are recognised under Ghanaian law to assist both tenants and landlords in securing accommodation.
According to him, rental agents play an important role in facilitating agreements between property owners and prospective tenants, helping to streamline the process of renting properties.
Mr. Kporsu made the remarks in an exclusive interview with GN Media during a visit to the department.
He, however, expressed concern about the activities of some individuals who exploit tenants and landlords under the guise of acting as rental agents, stressing that such practices undermine the legitimate role agents are expected to play in the housing sector.
