Zanetor elected 2nd Vice President of Pan-African Parliament

Member of Parliament(MP) for Klottey Korle, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has been elected Second Vice President of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), securing a senior leadership position within the continental legislative body. She won the election with a commanding 131 votes against 51, reflecting strong support from parliamentarians across Africa. Her election is viewed as a significant boost to Ghana’s influence within the African Union system, particularly in shaping legislative and policy discourse at the continental level. The Pan-African Parliament serves as a platform for promoting integration, cooperation and democratic governance among member states, while also providing advisory input on key policy matters across the continent. In her new role on the PAP Bureau, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings will help steer the affairs of the Parliament and contribute to its legislative direction, strategic priorities and institutional development. She is also expected to play a key role in strengthening Ghana’s participation in high-level continental discussions on governance, democracy and development. Her elevation further underscores Ghana’s growing presence in regional and international governance structures, with Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings emerging as an increasingly influential voice in African parliamentary diplomacy.
