AG Drops Charges, But EOCO Re-Arrests Former NAFCO CEO and Wife

May 5, 2026

Former NAFCO Boss Hanan Abdul-Wahab and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, were dramatically re-arrested by EOCO moments after walking free from court on Tuesday, May 5, when the Attorney-General withdrew all charges against them in the GH¢78 million school feeding scandal.

The couple had been on trial with others over alleged procurement irregularities tied to the purchase and supply of foodstuffs under the national school feeding programme — a case prosecutors say caused significant financial loss to the state.

Their discharge came after Deputy Attorney-General Dr Justice Srem-Sai announced that fresh evidence had emerged, prompting the state to discontinue proceedings against all accused persons.

In a Facebook post, Dr Srem-Sai said the move was necessary to guarantee a fair and speedy trial for all involved, in line with constitutional requirements.

But in a stunning twist, EOCO swiftly moved in to re-arrest the former NAFCO CEO and his wife immediately after their release, raising fresh questions about the next phase of the high-profile case.
