Education Minister happy with suspension of GAUA Strike

Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has expressed optimism that the suspension of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) strike will pave the way for a return to normal academic activities across public universities.
Speaking to the media on Friday, October 16, the Minister said the resolution of 80 per cent of the union’s outstanding concerns was satisfactory and a significant step towards resolving the dispute.
He indicated that the resumption of university activities would depend on compliance with directives from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC).
Mr. Iddrisu expressed gratitude for the progress made and hoped the development would bring relief to students, lecturers and university administrators affected by the strike.
