GAUA suspends Strike After Gov’t’s intervention
October 16, 2026
The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) has suspended its strike after the government addressed 80% of its concerns.
The strike was over disparities in market premiums and allowances between teaching and non-teaching staff in public universities.
Speaking to the media on Friday, October 16, GAUA National President Kwaku Karikari Amoah said members would return to work on Monday, while engagements continue to resolve the outstanding issues.
