HR CAFÉ 2026 HISTORIC AND STRATEGIC- NANA OYE

Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Administration at the Office of the President, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, has described the 2026 HR Café as a historic and strategic platform for strengthening human capital development and knowledge-sharing across Africa.

According to her, the gathering gives practical meaning to continental initiatives such as the Accra Reset, co-championed by President John Dramani Mahama and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.

She said a key pillar of the cooperation model was human capital development, with knowledge-sharing hubs providing opportunities for skills mobility, capacity building and African countries to train and support one another.

Nana Oye Bampoe Addo also highlighted the importance of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), noting that cross-border cooperation now extends beyond the movement of goods to include the movement of human capital.

She cited Ghana’s recent deployment of trained nurses to the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis under the Ghana Labour Exchange Programme as an example of how skills mobility could deepen international cooperation.

She stressed that in the current technological era, human skills remain one of Africa’s most valuable resources.

The Deputy Chief of Staff further noted that the HR Café 2026 would feature sessions led by seasoned speakers and experts on selected topics, alongside institutional and cultural visits.

Participants are expected to visit institutions including the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, a selected university and tourist sites as part of efforts to deepen relations between Ghana and Burkina Faso and promote cross-learning.

Nana Oye Bampoe Addo made the remarks in Accra on Monday when she delivered the keynote address at the opening ceremony of the 10th edition of the HR Café, which is also the first international edition of the programme involving Ghana and Burkina Faso.
