MAHAMA ASSENTS TO 10 BILLS

President John Dramani Mahama has assented to 10 Bills passed by Parliament, giving them legal effect.
The bills were approved during the Second Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament, which ended on July 31, 2026.
The newly enacted laws cover key areas including taxation, revenue mobilisation, justice administration, national defence, maritime regulation and the cocoa sector.
Among them were the Customs Act, Community Service Act, Tribunals Act, Maritime and Related Offences Act, National Defence University, Ghana Act, Ghana Cocoa Board Act and Excise Act.
Also included were amendments to the Income Tax Act, Value Added Tax Act and Energy Sector Levies Act.
The new laws are expected to guide the implementation of reforms in taxation, government revenue, justice delivery, national security and the regulation of key economic activities.
