Media personality Blasts Ghanaian leaders

August 28, 2026

Communication professional, public speaker and CEO of STN Media Consult, Smart Takyi Nixon, has criticised government officials for being disconnected from the everyday struggles of ordinary Ghanaians.

Speaking on Anopa Bosuo on ATV, he called on the government to pay greater attention to protecting basic amenities and addressing the challenges facing ordinary citizens.

Mr. Takyi argued that some government officials live far from the realities of ordinary Ghanaians because they enjoy benefits such as housing allowances and accommodation that may cost about 2,000 dollars a month.

He used the poor state of roads as an example, explaining that an ordinary Ghanaian driving a small car would feel the impact of potholes, while officials using V8 vehicles may not experience the same discomfort.

He also questioned the cost of domestic air travel, pointing out that a return flight between Accra and Kumasi can cost about GH¢5,000.

According to him, officials may not feel the pressure of such costs because government often pays for their official travels.

Mr. Takyi argued that this difference in experience makes it difficult for some government officials to understand the pain and challenges ordinary Ghanaians face.
