Messi Retirement Sparks Debate

Sports pundit Michael Kwame Owusu has weighed in on speculation surrounding Lionel Messi’s possible retirement after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking on Anopa Bosuo on ATV, Michael Owusu said the decision ultimately rests with Messi, especially considering his age and the demands of playing football at the highest level.

He argued that Messi has already achieved almost everything possible in football and should be allowed to decide when the right time is for him to step away from the game.

According to him, Messi’s achievements and influence on football are so significant that it could take many years before another player reaches a similar level.

Michael Owusu also praised Manchester United and England forward Marcus Rashford as a quality footballer but maintained that Messi’s impact and influence on the game remain exceptional.
