National Security uncovers counterfeit operation at Klagon church

September 23, 2026

A National Security operation has reportedly uncovered an alleged counterfeit currency operation at the premises of Holy Ghost Fire Hour Ministry International at Klagon.

The church’s leader, Rev. Emmanuel Boakye Danquah, is reportedly on the run following the operation.

According to reports, a search of the church premises revealed that the administrative offices and residential quarters were allegedly being used as a production and storage facility for counterfeit currency materials.

Authorities reportedly seized counterfeit coupons valued at more than US$5.2 million, CFA 623 million and GH¢7.1 million during the operation.

The materials were reportedly yet to be processed and printed at the time they were discovered.

The operation has raised concerns over the alleged use of the church premises for activities unrelated to its religious functions.

National Security is reportedly pursuing the church leader as investigations continue into the alleged counterfeiting operation and the source and intended use of the seized materials.
