No Ghana Card No Salary From September 15- CAGD

Public sector workers who fail to update or correct their Ghana Card details on the government payroll could have their salaries suspended from September 15, 2026.

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department says the measure forms part of preparations for a nationwide employee re-verification exercise.

The Department says the upgraded Employee Payslip system has exposed discrepancies in workers’ National Identification Authority records.

Some employees have incorrect NIA numbers on the payroll, while others have no NIA details captured at all.

The CAGD has directed Human Resource departments across Ministries, Departments and Agencies to resolve the discrepancies before the deadline.

Affected employees are required to ensure their correct NIA information is captured in the payroll system.

The Department has also clarified that workers do not need to submit physical copies of their Ghana Cards for inspection.

Human Resource officers have been asked to check their official emails for lists of employees flagged as having “No NIA” records and take the necessary action.

The CAGD has urged affected workers to resolve their records before September 15 to avoid disruption to their salary payments.
