Pa Gya! Literary Festival Marks 10 Years, Targets Wider Market for Ghanaian Writers
October 12, 2026
The Pa Gya! Literary Festival will mark its 10th edition from October 16 to 18, 2026, in Accra, with a focus on expanding market opportunities and visibility for Ghanaian writers.
Festival Director Martin Egblewogbe says many local authors struggle to gain recognition despite producing works that reflect Ghana’s culture, history and contemporary experiences.
The three-day festival will feature book launches, readings, panel discussions, workshops, performances and exhibitions, bringing together more than 80 writers, artists and speakers from Ghana and at least 13 other countries.
Organised by the Writers Project of Ghana in partnership with the Goethe-Institute Ghana and the Foundation for Contemporary Art-Ghana, the festival aims to strengthen the literary industry and promote sustainable careers for local writers.
The event will take place at the Goethe-Institute Ghana and the Foundation for Contemporary Art in Cantonments, Accra.
