Parent Raises Concern Over Placement of Hearing Child at School for the Deaf
September 8, 2026

A parent seeking redress at the CSSPS resolution centre at KTI Hall in Kumasi has raised concerns over the placement of his child at the Mampong Akuapem School for the Deaf.
According to the frustrated father, his child has no hearing impairment and can both hear and speak clearly.
“He can hear, he can speak. How do you go and place him at Mampong Akuapim School for the Deaf? That’s what I don’t understand,” he told journalists.
The parent further explained that his ward did not select the special school and questioned the basis for the placement.
He therefore appealed to the authorities at the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) resolution centre to review the placement and assign his child to an appropriate school.
Officials at the centre were yet to resolve the case, as scores of parents continue to visit the facility with concerns over alleged wrong or unexpected school placements.
