Parliament to open first Parliamentary Museum to the public

The Parliament of Ghana has announced the formal opening of its first Parliamentary Museum to the public from Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

The museum is a legacy project of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban S. K. Bagbin, aimed at improving public understanding of Ghana’s parliamentary history and institutions.

It will be open to visitors Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

The museum houses a collection of historical photographs, documents and records of parliamentary proceedings, artefacts and memorabilia of former Speakers, as well as archival materials on the Legislative Council and Ghana’s constitutional milestones.

It also features ceremonial and symbolic items associated with Parliament, together with interactive multimedia exhibits highlighting the law-making process and the history of governance in Ghana.

The Parliamentary Service said the museum will provide a resource for the general public, students, researchers, tourists, Members of Parliament and international partners interested in Ghana’s parliamentary and constitutional development.

Members of the public who wish to visit are required to book through Parliament’s official website by selecting “Visit” and then “Museum” and completing the booking form.

Parliament said the museum forms part of its commitment to openness, public education and preserving the country’s legislative history for future generations.
