US-Based Ghanaian Philanthropist Supports Orphanages and Schools Across Ghana

A US-based Ghanaian philanthropist, Mr. Samuel Quansah Quarcoo, together with his friends, has embarked on a mass donation exercise to support orphanages and schools across Ghana. As part of the initiative, the group visited the Ghana Make a Difference (GMAD) Orphanage in the Central Region, where they donated essential items such as rice, cooking oil, dresses and exercise books to support the institution and the children in its care. Speaking to ATV News, Mr. Quansah Quarcoo said the initiative was driven by the need to step outside their comfort zones and understand the challenges facing vulnerable communities. He encouraged individuals and authorities to personally visit institutions such as GMAD to gain a better understanding of the challenges they face and identify ways to support them. He also raised concerns about the poor condition of the road leading to the facility, particularly the difficulty accessing the compound due to the state of the road and an obstruction along the route. According to him, the road also serves a nearby public school, making its accessibility important to both the orphanage and the wider community. Mr. Quansah Quarcoo appealed to community members and authorities to help improve access to the facility, stressing that GMAD operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and therefore requires reliable access. A social worker at GMAD, Bernice, expressed appreciation to Mr. Quansah Quarcoo for his continued support to the institution. She noted that his repeated visits and donations demonstrate his commitment to the welfare of the children. According to her, the orphanage appreciates his support and prayed for God to grant him good health and strength to continue his humanitarian work. The donation forms part of the philanthropist's broader effort to support vulnerable children and educational institutions in Ghana.
